We started Special Smiles because at our school we are in a program called Special Olympics, which is a program where we get to go to the gym and work on skills with the special needs kids. We have a very nice and skilled buddy. He is Spanish and is learning how to speak English. We see him once a week and treasure the time that we have with him. That's why we started this program to raise money for kids like him. We hope we do well and raise a lot of money.
Who we give to:
Special needs classes,
Special Olympics,
Special needs camps.
Why do we do it:
because we want these kids to feel good about themselves, even though they have special needs.
We want to help.
We want them to have what they need.
How do we raise it:
we shovel drive ways,
ask for donations,
have games days,
sell lemonade,
sell hot chocolate,
we are running and sponsoring a 5k.
